Look Mum No Hands...

Highly skilled scaffolding construction workers in China and India resent Western safety standards and the need to use full safety harnesses and steel scaffolding, preferring instead to use bamboo and traditional skills taught over centuries.
They'd sooner take responsibility for their own actions and learn the skills that prevent mishaps rather than take the 'soft option' which can increase the number of accidents.
Kids, don't try this at home...

  2. Once again tradition is used as an excuse for not learning a better way. I'll take steel over sticks tied together with vines anytime.
